Product Review

The Veloped Trek is the best ever . . .

What was your concern with this review?

I am 68 years old and was a long-distance walker/hiker/backpacker until last Fall 2019, when on a 100 mile/161 kilometer hike, my right hip went out. Walking was painful and difficult. I could barely walk a block. Covid-19 came and treatments became limited or non-existent.

Longing to walk again in town and on mountain trails, I discovered the all-terrain Veloped Trek online. It arrived three weeks ago. It was simple to attach the wheels. Amazingly the Veloped Trek takes just enough pressure off my hip to begin walking again. I have been walking in town on a variety of surfaces: smooth sidewalks and uneven sidewalks; streets with cracks, bumps, and holes; gravel and small rocks; grass and dirt; and up and down curbs, and I have slowly increased distances. Today I walked 2 miles/3.2 kilometers. This is the perfect remedy for my hip. I especially like how it allows me to walk standing straight, not bent over, and the basket and gear are perfect for future picnics and further hikes.

Initially, two repairable problems presented themselves. I had two flat tires within the first week due to goathead stickers which are common here in the desert. This was easily fixed with the popular green goop used in bicycle tires. All four tires received the treatment and I have had no further flats. Also, I found the seat uncomfortable. This problem was resolved by partially inflating a long, rectangular, inflatable camping pillow/cushion, folding it into thirds and placing it in between the two seat layers. It is a soft seat now. It was an easy solution.

Overall, I am pleased with the Veloped Trek. It is sturdy and sporty-looking, and it has brought the joy of walking back into my life. Thanks to Oshin and Stefan who kindly assisted me as I made my purchase. The Veloped Trek is the best ever. Joyce, Alamogordo, New Mexico

I’m a 56 year old, C5 incomplete with balance and endurance challenges. My wife and I live out in the country and honestly my ability to help her with the daily chores of country life since my trauma in July of 2020 has been almost nonexistent.
